Labratory Technician

Petra Power is seeking a curious, ambitious, and precise research assistant to work in the Company’s laboratory on various aspects of solid oxide fuel cell power system research, design, and construction. Laboratory technicians will work in small teams led by experts in their field to bring truly transformational technology to market. Ideal candidates for this position either have a bachelors in chemistry, physics, math, or engineering with laboratory experience, or have industrial experience working on chemical processes or on power systems. This role exists in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment and candidates with an eagerness to adapt quickly, learn new skills, and dive into the technical details of their work are highly valued. While the responsibilities of this position will vary day-to-day the following is a non-exhaustive list that a candidate may encounter on the job:

· Working with ceramic materials

· Powder Synthesis

· Tape Casting

· Material Characterization

· Electrical work and simple circuity

· Mechanical Work and CAD Design

· Data Analysis

· Reviewing Scientific Articles and Literature

· Scientific Writing

· Record Keeping

· Keeping Laboratory Space Organized and Tidy
